June 8, 1950 (Thursday) - Philadelphia, PA

W/L record 25-26 (.490), T3rd place, 4.5 GB, Streak L1, Last10 5-5

The Chicago White Sox came back in strong fashion thumping the Athletics last night, 7-3.

A's starter Bob Hooper (L, 4-2) got booted out of the game early, allowing seven earned runs on eleven hits in only four innings pitched. White Sox first baseman Luke Appling teed off Hooper in the second inning with a two-run shot. The left handed lead off hitter went three for four on the day with two RBI and three runs scored.

White Sox starter Bob Kusava went the distance picking up his seventh win on the season.

One bright note for the Athletics; the bullpen shut down the Sox offense for the remainder the game.

The two teams meet Friday night for the rubber game of the series.
