Hitting Notes
  • Auld is 2nd in the HL in Batting Average at .395. He also leads the team in HR with 5.
  • Grier leads the club in RBI with 23, one more than Auld. That is good for 3rd overall in the Big Leagues.
  • Auld and Schwartz both have a WAR of 1.3.
  • Musgrave is up to 13 stolen bases. He leads the Big Leagues in steals.
  • Richie Swan has been caught stealing 4 of his 6 attempts. Might need to put the brakes on him.
  • Backup catcher Andre Barnett is 0-9 so far this season with 6 strikeouts.

Pitching Notes
  • Leyva is 4-0 with a 1.38 ERA.
  • Figiel is 4-0 with a 2.52 ERA.
  • Lee Lewis gave up his first runs of the season May 4th against Chicago, when they scored 2 off of him. I thought I noticed a little wince, or grimace, after one of the pitches. Our manager, Charlie Pepe, noticed it too, but when he asked Lee about it afterwards, Lee tried to assure him it wasn’t. Something we will monitor closely.
  • Schubert is now 2-2 with a 4.35 ERA. Pitching better still after the rocky start.
  • Christensen’s 3.41 ERA is the highest amongst the starting pitchers.
