David Ortiz shot according to dad

It's not known how he is doing as of now.

do they know if the guy was trying to shoot Ortiz or was someone else the target and Ortiz happened to catch one?

According to witnesses, the shooter approached Ortiz directly. A second person, television host Jhoel Lopez, was also shot.

Last report is they don't know who was the target. He was sitting w/ other D.R. celebs. So one of them could have been who the shooter was looking for. Ortiz was shot in the back. So it could have been a case of mistaken identity since he didn't see his face.
