Very new to this game with some questions

Just bought this game over the weekend.

So I got hired as GM (don't know enough hockey stuff to coach) for an AHL team. Made it through the pre-season and I didn't see any news about the NHL team calling up any of my players, but all of a sudden I've lost half my team including both goalies.

I checked the roster of my parent club (Flyers) and I don't see the goalies there. Looked at Free Agents and my goalies aren't there. I called up a goalie from the ECHL but the goalies available as Free Agents are not good.

Does anybody know what I did wrong? Also does anyone know of a guide for beginners for this game?

Thanks for any help on this!

So the reason for this post was that as I continued to the next day after the final pre-season game I got a message saying I didn't have the minimum number of players under 26. So I signed two goalies and a few younger players to get to the bare minimum. After assigning numbers and continuing to the next day all my "missing" players are available again. I'm so confused. lol

Not sure what might've happened there. The AI might push some of its players down to the ECHL if your roster is full, but it shouldn't be leaving empty spots and it should make sure there are enough goalies. If you look on the history page of one of the players who went missing, does it have any record of his movement around that time?
