Designing and building 3D stadiums looks to be beyond my computing abilities. I only hope as the game progresses, it will be simple to import or to use ready-made stadium models that might be included with the game.

But I think I am going to enjoy the graphics.

Looks good to me and this is just the first step! Can't wait to see the 3D feature take shape over the years!

Its going to be so cool once people create stadiums for this. I can see eventually this being my favorite way to play out my games.

Hopefully the camera will eventually be able to change between your saved angles once the ball is in play automatically. It sounds like you can switch it manually though that may be only between at bats and not once the ball is in play...at least for this version.

Definitely like the potential and all the possibilities I'm seeing (and I'm not talking about it becoming a 3D game like we see on consoles). I'm mainly talking about being able to appreciate the ball parks features and characteristics both from a visual stand point (seeing recognizable scoreboards and signs etc) as well as the unique nooks and crannies and walls.

Kudos for the team making such a good-looking 3D product, but thinking about all the effort that could have been spent on improving gameplay instead makes me sad. I really hope there isn't much focus on this 3D aspect in the future.

fense post and grid vs ball locations

I'm not sure I totally understand. In the 3D model, am I correct that the fence posts and grid replace the need to move all the ball locations markers around?

If I am correct, this seems like it will be much better and easier than dealing with moving the ball locations around.

Seeing it in rough form in the RTR I just am not interested . I usually turn ball flight off and use the webcast view anyway. Good luck, I hope it becomes something special but for now, meh

Improved gameplay was not sacrificed one whit for 3D....

Throw all the 3D stuff out the window and this would still be the best OOTP by far.

Considering that they have a dedicated 3D programmer working on only the 3D, I don't see why anyone would be worried that the rest of the game would suffer for it.

Here's something that absolutely needs to change.

Put the text in the middle of the screen, not at the bottom. Bottom is how PureSim works. You read text, the ball is hit, you follow the flight on the screen, then read more text.

Constantly moving the eyes up and down gets to be a headache after a while. Put the text block in the middle of the screen, hide it when the ball is hit, then bring it back when the play is over. Leaving it at the bottom is a huge mistake.

Uh... no. Nope. I like it how it is. I've seen this suggested before, and my answer's always the same. I like having the ball move at the same time as the text appears; to me that gives it a much better play-by-play feel. If they want to implement this as an option, that's fine by me, but it's certainly not a mistake, and it certainly doesn't NEED to change.

While not a 3D fan myself, 3D and improving gameplay are not mutually exclusive. In fact, 3D is a way to improve gameplay.

This is me also, looks beyond my very small computer capabilities but looks like it would be fun to do if I could grasp it... I hope there will be a very easy guide step by step what to do to create a 3d stadium for people like me...

Let me make sure I understand what you're saying.

You have the ability to read text and watch the ball flying at the same time.

Peripheral vision is limited.

So I'm curious how you can do this. Does one eye watch the ball and the other read the text?

While I doubt this will be a feature that I will be utilizing out of box, in my opinion this is by far the most exciting feature to hit this game in a long time.

I would love to be playing in Yankee Stadium as it looked on opening day in 1923. There's no game out there that currently offers that. With this addition though, this could.

I've never been a big fan of the picture model. I think its geared too much towards being a one size fits all system. It works well with the newer stadiums, but if your looking for good photos of ballparks before the 1990's, good luck.

This eliminates the need for that and hopefully down the road we can get to the point to where you can have a 1952 Fenway Park and a 1960 Fenway Park. Doing that would give OOTP an authentic feel to historical parts that no other game out there offers.

Sorry, doesn't work for me. I'm unable to focus on two different spots no matter how far away from the screen I sit. And, as I said earlier, peripheral vision is limited.

But maybe I'm eyeball challenged. How do you focus your eyes on two different places at the same time? I'm willing to learn a new trick.
