Play in an online league The pace is slower, so I spend much of my free OOTP time digging through the database rather than simming single-player games.

Seriously though, set the top 100 prospects to update annually, and shortlist the prospects who intrigue you or are in the upper minors. That way you will see news on the most important guys and the ones who you will need to watch out for down the road.

I also have feeders on, and check out those at the end of their seasons to see who are top prospects for the upcoming draft, and who are guys to watch out for down the road.
