Using the Opener in Perfect Team

Is there any way to use the Opener strategy in Perfect Team, and if so, has anyone tried doing it to any degree of success? I tried putting a relief pitcher in the next rotation spot with a pitch count of 15, with my "bulk guy" listed as a long reliever, but the opener pitched three innings and 31 pitches before being removed, and the bulk guy only pitched three as well. Is there any way to have your starter only go an inning in a simulated game?

We'll have openers in OOTP20, but for now, not sure there's really any good way to replicate this

You could put a RP in the rotation and set him to a 40 (or so) pitch count. and have the SP in the bullpen set to long / mopup reliever.

I did put a reliever in the rotation and set him to a pitch count of 15, but he ended up going 30. Is there a built-in minimum to pitch count?

Also, it seems that it doesn't matter if its a high Stamina or low, the pitcher coming in relief usually only lasts a maximum of 40 to 50 pitches before being fully exhausted rather than if they started and lasted 100+.

So if you open with a reliever for 1 inning, then switch to your preferred starter, he will probably last a maximum of 3 to 4 innings

So have your relievers start and have your starters in relief? Great way to take advantage of the L/R matchup.

An even better way to take advantage of dumb AI.

Maybe for starts, but I have some relievers who follow their pitch counts.
