The WBF is a world league consisting of two separate 18 team leagues. Each league has 3 regional divisions made up of 16 teams. League Champions play for the WBF Championships.
We also hold 2 yearly tournaments, and each team plays in one or the other depending on where they finish in the standings: We have the World Cup and the Jobu Cup. The league is set up to create as much parity as possible. No scouts means that nobody can have an extra advantage over a newer less knowledgeable GM. Finances are set so that all teams have a fair shot at competing, and managing finances will be a key component to success.

22 Teams filled before the league even went live today. 14 teams remain open. Once all 14 are filled, we will hold our draft lottery (separate inaugural drafts for the Western and Eastern League).

Available Teams:

Just started the inaugural draft, but one GM has had to bow out.

The San Francisco Quakes are available and currently ready to pick 8th overall in the Western League.

Please email wbfcommish@gmail.com if you'd like in on this very rare opportunity to start a brand new fictional team from the ground up.

We are at the Opening Day sim today in our first season and I may have a couple of openings.

Let me know if you are interested in joining this league...still essentially right from the beginning.

So as with many new leagues, some people like to just participate in an inaugural draft and then bolt. Frustrating, but that's how it is...especially with a giant 36 team league. Two annual tournaments make the league lots of fun and always give you something to fight for in the standings.

We've just completed the first sim. Open teams are:

Sao Paolo Vipers
Mumbai Storm

Dallas filled.

Two teams open. We've only completed 2 sims in our inaugural season so it's a great time to get in on a league from the ground up and shape the history of your franchise!

Can you lead Sao Paolo or Mumbai to the playoffs to win the WBF Championship?

Will you have the smarts to earn a berth in the World Cup tournament, or will you find yourself playing in the lowly Jobu Cup?

If you are looking for a really unique league, the WBF is for you! We boast 2 separate leagues of 18 teams each with an association playoff. What's more...at the end of the season there are two tournaments that run concurrently: The World Cup and the Jobu Cup and qualification is based on season standings so there is ALWAYS something to play for even if a team is not in playoff contention.

Current Open Teams:

Sao Paolo Vipers

The Vipers currently sit tied for 1st in the Latin America division. They have an insanely deep batting order and put up lots of runs, but do they have the pitching to finish 1st in Latin America?

New York Nitros

The Nitros currently sit 2nd in the United States Division, good enough for a playoff berth and automatic entry into the World Cup. Like Sao Paolo, their owner bailed immediately following the inaugural draft. Their strength is a solid rotation that keeps them in ball games.

Mumbai Storm

The Storm are also in need of a GM after another bailed shortly after the draft. Side note, what's with people joining a league to draft and then quitting? Mumbai sits 3rd in the Asian Division, which is good enough for automatic entry into the World Cup, and sit just 1.5 games out of a playoff spot. Mumbai has arguably the highest rated young hitter in the league in 23 yo 3B Steve Carpenter and they were lucky enough to nab a 4 star OF prospect in international discoveries.

Email wbfcommish@gmail.com if interested.
