That's the mild version. Bad cases have ended a couple of careers (Jan Vopat and Tom Reid).

Wow. I always wondered what happened to Jan Vopat, he sort of disappeared from the league. I had no idea it was equipment gunk.

Jacques Lemaire, Grant Fuhr, Rick Vaive, Lou Nanne, Dennis Hextall, and Paul Gardiner apparently all had bouts with it at some point in their careers as well. Very interesting.
