Major League Baseball Dreams is ready for a new season

You might think you want a brand new league; someplace that you can start fresh and build out your dream franchise from the beginning. It's always a great idea, until halfway through the first season when 2/3 of the GMs have started ghosting the league when their brilliant draft plans didn't pan out quite as well as they'd liked. The league limps along for another season half full of AI-run teams, and then folds.

Not Major League Baseball Dreams. 13 years of real-life running with a core group of GMs that have been there from the beginning and 3/4 of the league in at least their 5th season. We've got great rivalries, both meta and in-game, heroes (definitely me), and villains. It's a great league to settle down into and build for the long haul.

Originally established in 2006 with current MLB rosters, we're just about to start 2067 so all of those MLB stars are long gone, replaced with our own All Stars and gritty dogs. It's a well balanced league with multiple teams competitive until the final sim every year.

I'm newly taking over as commish to give our long standing captain a break to focus on just building a team for once, but we'll be just as committed to keeping a tight sim schedule as we always have been. We sim an in-game week every Sunday/Monday/Wednesday/Friday, with the weekday sims being broadcast live via StatsPlus to our Slack server.

We're a welcoming group, generally a bit more on the mature side although we've had GMs as young as high school age and they fit in just fine until puberty hit and OOTP stopped being as interesting as girls. We update every other OOTP revision (update on the even revisions - currently on OOTP20).

Full League Name (Initials): Major League Baseball Dreams (MLBD)
Main URL: mlbdreamsootpsim.com
Boards URL: mlbdreamsootpsim.com/forum2
Commissioner OOTP Forum Username(s): Dave Dold, "ddold", (Commissioner)
Email Address: mlbd.commissioners@gmail.com
OOTP Version: OOTP20, and we update on even numbered OOTP revs.
Game Needed: Required
Players: Originally historical, but now at this point there are no historical players remaining.
# of Teams: The 30 MLB teams , with full minor leagues, including a Winter Development League (AA)
Sim Schedule: during season - M, W, F, Su, weekdays around 4:30pm or 6pm, weekends around 7:30am. Offseason, we'll run almost every day or as close to as we can manage, given real life.
League Time Per Sim: 7 Days, varies in off season, but generally around 2 weeks (-ish), 1 week early in free agency
First Season: 2006 (game time and real life time)
Current Season: 2067
Special Rules & Settings: no coaches or scouts, we've implemented the new CBA. We don't use the amateur signing bonus having tried it and found it was more hassle than fun (sorry Markus).

Take a look at the web site and drop by the forum and look around. Links to the team reports are on the web site so you can check out the teams. If you like what you see, email the commissioner's email above (also linked on the web site) and let me know you are interested. I'm good at answering fairly quickly. If we fill up we'll be glad to put you on a waiting list, as some GMs come and go due to real life.

Teams currently available:

Arizona Diamondbacks - they're in a bit of a rut lately despite having made the playoffs in 2065. One of the original powerhouses in the league, they need a steady hand to guide them back to the promised land..
Colorado Rockies - 2066 NL champions, but in a game of musical chairs their long time GM took over another team so these mashers need someone to keep them atop a competitive NL West. They hit HRs, yes, but they're also a solid all around team with significant budget room for some fun.
Cleveland Indians - back to back AL Central champions, kings of small ball in a home stadium where all good fly balls go to die. They play in one of our most competitive divisions and are set up for a solid run with a bunch of star players in their prime and bunches of budget for the upcoming offseason.

Email the commissioner email above if you are interested in joining.
