Historical Baseball Association Forming

Hi, all. I'm starting a new historical baseball league, called the HBA. It's set to start in 1960, with real teams, players, and expansion.

Some of the Rules:
Scouts: Off
Ratings: Actual/Potential/Coach: 1-10; Other: 1-5; Stars
Suspensions/Injuries: Enabled, "Low" frequency
Talent Change Randomness: 25
Draft Pick Trading: Enabled
Draft: Handled online in forum thread (more info to follow)
Rule V Draft: Enabled
Designated Hitters: Disabled
Retire According to History: Disabled
Offseason Recalc: Disabled

Teams Available:
None, but the league will be expanding in both of the next two offseasons, so stay tuned or add your name to the waiting list!

Sim Information:
I'm planning to do sims on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, with 7 days to a sim. If the league would rather leave out that Wednesday sim, I'd be fine with that, too. I am also not sure if this will league will be run on OOTP 9 or OOTP X, but more likely than not, we will convert to OOTP X as soon as possible once it comes out. So, if you're planning on waiting to buy X, this league is probably not for you.

Now, this league is meant to be, essentially, a "how could things have been different" experience. So, Recalc is off. Auto-retire is off. Etc., etc. We'll see how the game develops players, and go with it. So, if you are a disciple of strict by-the-books historical accuracy, this league is probably not for you. While I will always ask for the league's input on rule changes, this part of the league is non-negotiable- please understand that before joining.

If you have any questions or are interested, you have a few options of how to get in touch with me. You can reply to this thread, PM me at this board, AIM me at TheRedSoxJunkie, or Email me at antiyankee@cox.net. Please do not hesitate to contact me. The league site's URL will be given when requested, but because of hackers and spammers, I will not post it publicly for now.

-Nate

Might be a good idea to change the posting title to reflect the fact that this will be an OOTP X League. There are probably quite a few people looking for just such a league but figure (correctly) most of these listings are for OOTP 9.

Yeah, thanks. Fixed.

Three teams are left- the Orioles, Athletics, and Cardinals. Obviously with expansion coming quickly, we'll have room for a waiting list if needed.

This is probably a dumb question but I'll ask anyways just to make sure. All the teams are starting with their real rosters from 1960 and not a draft, right?

That is correct.

The league is now full, but I would really like to get a waiting list started. Online leagues always have some sort of turnover rate, especially when they're just starting out, so I'd like to be prepared if I get any no-shows.

Also, remember that the league will be expanding in both of the next 2 offseasons, so if you'd like to lay down an early claim to the Senators/Twins/Mets/Colt .45s, please feel free.

Waiting list is now 8 people deep. Please take note of this when applying. Like I said, there will likely be a few no-shows (I already needed one replacement owner from the list), so it may move quickly. Just letting everyone know that there are no guarantees of a spot right now.

Is there any way you can post the waiting list order so we know where we stand?

I can PM it to you (which I will after posting this), but I don't think it'd be right of me to post everyone's name and email address here.

Hey, guys!

My waiting list is running a bit thin (down to 2 or 3), so I figured I'd make a post. Get your spot on the waiting list now!

You can put me on the wait list - I can't find a league I like or that has teams available

I've not played in a league before, but this sounds like exactly what I'd enjoy...historical, starting in the '60's, my favorite era.

Please put me on the wait list.

When you get to the expansion of the Mets I would love to take them over...

I'm gonna open this up again. Looking for a couple owners, first come, first serve. Please note that I am currently NOT looking for expansion owners, but contact me for an available team right away... These spots usually fill up fast.
