If you play import random rookies from all ears and set a cutoff for seasons to import from, such as 1976, then rookies who come in will not have any of their RL stats past 1976 displayed; and I assume the game will develop potential ratiings based only on the RL play through the 76 campaign. This might be tied to how the databases are set up, but it still is not favorable. I mean, when Mike Hargrove come in and has his potential based only on 74-76 campaigns ,seems like a FIX would be nice. Is this possible? Because I want to avoid players after 1976, not the career stats of players up to 1976.

This is not a database issue. Please post this in the ootp suggestions forum.

The world.dat file has been missing many cities ever since it was "upgraded" from a csv file to its new xml format. Nothing can be done easily to update the xml file and I personally don't think this matters to the ootp team anyway. Sorry, it has been years in this state and will remain so for the forseeable future.

Having issues with certain players not retiring in a Historical Replay league.

Richie Ashburn for instance still active after 1962 and well after.

I have checked the "retired players according to season" box, and have tried this with multiple leagues and getting the same result. Even tried re-installing the game, but still getting the same issues.

I did not have this problem until installing the last update and have been playing this game for many years and this is the first time I've ever come across an issue like this.

Now attempting to delete all the game files and just install the thing from scratch.

*Did that. Still getting the same Ashburn not retiring after '62 issue even with the retire players according to history box checked.

*Also note historical transactions are not checked, but I don't believe this should make a difference and hasn't in instances I've done this before.

For these issues retire according to history must be checked or instances like Ashburn will be the rule. Beyond that this is a general game issue and should be posted one level up in the more general bug report forum so it may be seen by the development team.

Thanks for the reply. The button was checked right when I started up the league and I've tried it with multiple different leagues, so I don't believe that is the issue.

I saw the issue with Gil Hodges as well not retiring after '63 so I know it's not just him. Ashburn was just the most noticeable.

I'll try to run a league using historical transactions when I get home to see if that makes any difference.

Forgive me if this was fixed in v. 19, which I've yet to purchase, but 1990s minor league pitcher Chad Anderson (historic ID anders001cha ; the Phils' 12th round pick in 1990) has somehow managed to appropriate Brian Anderson's major league ID (anderbr02; Angels' #1 pick in 1993) and stats, so that just when Chad is washing out of the pros by going 7-14 at Spartanburg in 1993, Brian's 13-year major league career kicks in. Except that the game thinks it's still Chad, I mean.

Help?

Any way to turn off Retiring so it doesn't happen but then got to turn Injures/Trades and so on then could sim up into 2019 and have what if Rosters meaning like Bagwell or Verlander never went to Astros but still on Red Sox Bagwell and Verlander Tigers before 2019 I turn things back on.

A Yes to that. Choose during league creation.

Retire according to history = off
Injuries set to extremely low or off
AI cannot make trades/rooster decisions = on

He will move with franchise if not retired by then.

Draft started earlier than 1969.

When did the MLB Draft start?
Major League Baseball's first amateur draft was held in June 1965. Teams chose players in reverse order of the previous season's standings, with picks alternating between the National and American Leagues.

Thanks and Drafted by Teams Database would take to long to do. I got it done mostly with 2018 League but getting guys drafted from 1965 and beyond that are retired will take along time.

Another v. 18 question; apologies if already fixed

In the teams' "History" sections, no credit is given for reaching the post-season before the start of divisional play in 1969. I grant you that the term "playoffs" only cam into vogue with the advent of the League Championship Series, but obvious making the World Series, win or lose, should count as such.

I mean, I'm always glad to see the Yankees eliminated from playoff contention, but when the message I get announcing the demise of the 1991 team's chances says "New York has missed the playoffs in 115 of their 120 year history" (or whatever), it's obviously glaringly wrong.

Also wrong is that "120 year history" thing. Apparently every team has been given a "history" that dates back to 1871, which is incorrect for pretty much everyone except the Cubs and the Braves. In some cases, this has been done by appending the records of similar-but-not-actually-antecedent teams (the Yankees, who were the Baltimore Orioles in 1901-1902, have been gifted the records of the 19th century National League Orioles, who went extinct after 1899) and in others (such as the Red Sox) the tables are simply backfilled from the team's first year of existence, the data copied over and over again. So the "1871 Boston Americans" had that same season for 31 years, until finally they posted a different record in 1902. (At last!)

Obviously wrong. Please fix it (if you haven't already). And thanks in advance.
