So who else in this thread had an urge to aim their cars at small animals in the road this morning?

That's everyday... today I was aiming at small children...

Did you try modifying the default injury file?!?

I didn't get around to it. Instead I went back to my regular fictional league and began watching injury after injury start taking out members of the team.

This is a ... umm... disturbing... thread...

And coming from a FOBL guy, that's saying a lot.

i know i am going a little off topic here but i feel now is as good a time as any to chime in as you guys in this thread appear to be very open minded. anyway, i am thinking of starting an ALL_NUDE OOTP league, possibly multiplayer. it would be a requirement that you must submit your exports naked. what variables do i need to tweak? how do i make it so that there are more bases on balls?

The first thing you need to do, is visit the locker room at your local ballpark with a digital camera. When you explain what you need the pictures for, I'm sure the guys will be happy to cooperate.

Tiger attach? Is that like Siegfried and Roy? Does the tiger get unattached after the player is dead?

After watching the dreadful Star Trek Nemesis last night, I would add a line for death caused by exposure to Thalaron Radiation.

The Aztec League - now there's a name file I'd hate to have to make up!

Question: how frequently would the executions take place? If you play a 162-game season, you're probably looking at, like, 50 killings per season, minimum, if you do it after every game. Maybe instead have them take place on promotion days, or at the beginning of each month, or something - that way, just having a single bad game won't kill you, and your team won't run through most of its minor-league roster each season.

What do you think?

I was going to do it after each game but run a short season of 40 games or so. I also thought that executing the guy who did the worst would mean that the stars would likely stick around longer. I did a little test run of it, had the team I was running start 0-5 and lost the top two pitchers in my rotation as they got absolutely shelled, a solid middle reliever and a couple of scrub hitters. It was actually kind of fun and I'm considering trying a full-fledged league based on it. With the short season and high fatality rate I think the league records might be interesting after a few years

How do you decide who played the worse game? If, say, your SP gave up 4 runs in 6 innings, and your MR gave up 1 in 3; and your light-hitting SS went 0-for-3 with a walk, but your slugging 1B went 1-for-4 with two Ks, who do you off?

I'm not sure, but I think there is an era editor available. you might be able to use it to pump up the number of walks.

You should add some minor (but frequent) sliding related injuries for your nude league. Having played co-ed softball for quite a few years, I've seen some nasty scrapes from players wearing shorts sliding.

I just went with my judgment. Usually there was a big goat in the game that stood out otherwise it was a judgment call. I figure I will act as a sort of Darwinian selection process and eventually only the type of hitters I like will survive

Wow. Damn, that would be freaking cool even if I think evolution is a total crock.

I had an interesting idea once based on some ancient tribal customs in which the winner of a contest gets the prize of being offered to the gods (i.e. killed). Basically, if you win the world series, your whole team (or maybe just your starting lineup or something) dies.

Perhaps we should suggest this to Bud Selig as a way of evening the playing field in baseball.

Already more than 1600 views. This shows strong support for Death League play to be implemented.
