Annual Argument for 1B/3B Coaches

I understand that to many players, hiring staff is an administrative hassle.

For the rest of us, it's a lot of fun and adds a lot to the immersion. I particularly enjoy, around 20 years into a fictional sim, when all of the coaching staff for all teams is made up of former players.

1B Coaches typically manage, or at least administer, the team's base stealing strategy. Coaches in OOTP have a rating called "Teach Running." Not sure which staff member currently influences development of stealing stats, but this could be switched to 1B.

3B Coaches are also often Infield Instructors (at least was the case with the Dodgers for the last few years). There's a Teach Fielding Rating that, to my understanding, is used by Managers and BC's to develop players. This could be switched to or shared with 3B coaches.

I agree 100% with this notion. Maybe even bullpen coaches who influence the development of the relievers. One of my favourite things to do is surf through the player personnel screen. Let's get it done!!!

I have long wanted to see coaching expanded for as well.

Would love to see 1B coach, 3B coach, and Bullpen coaches.

Would also like to see assistant hitting and pitching coaches, where the coach could get experience to become a hitting or pitching coach down the road.

I also would love adding new coaches, maybe for those that don't want the hassle of hiring those assistant coaches, give an option to allow the Manager and/or Assistant GM to hire these coaches. I also would love to see the ability to hire other teams coaches away in a role that would be a promotion....example, hire another teams Bench Coach or Hitting/Pitching Coach to be your new Manager, or one of the assistant coaches to be your new Hitting coach.

I like this suggestion.

My suggestion would be, instead of being able to simply delegate those tasks to your assistant, having a switch where you could toggle "advanced coaching" or something like that. Turned on, you'd have base coaches, a bullpen coach, maybe assistant coaches. You could do the same thing with scouting like in FHM.

I too would love this feature.. I would love base coaches, bullpen coaches, more scouts, and even team president over the Gm cus it's just weird to see guys like Theo Epstein and John Mozeliak get hired by other teams

i think it would be a mess, personally. So as Arthur Lee said: " If you want to count me, count me out." on this idea.
i can see your points, if it worked, but it's not something i'd want or need...
