Wanted: 150-Game Schedule for Slaabovian Republic League

150 games/season from 1902 to 1950

Six teams per subleague, one division per subleague

No interleague play except for All-Star Game and postseason

15 home/15 away games per opponent by default

Teams may not spend more than four series straight either at home or on the road

Teams must have at least four, but no more than six, planned off-days each month

Schedule must start on April 1st, if and whenever possible

Each series should average three games at a time whenever possible

Doubleheaders allowed as long as they meet the required conditions as best as possible

No Friday night games starting after 6:30 pm local time

No Saturday games starting before 6:30 pm local time

Sunday games may start no later than 4:30 pm local time and no earlier than 1:30 pm local time

Most weekday games must be day games, starting anywhere between 10 am and 5 pm local time

All-Star Break must be five days in length, with the All-Star Game scheduled on the third day of the ASB, if and whenever possible.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide a standard schedule for me to use here, folks. CD out.

Wanted: Standard 120-Game schedule for Cirrriddiquan Kingdom Union

In relation to this, I would like a 120-game schedule as well, based on the same stated basic conditions as for the SRL, but for the Cirriddiquan Kingdom League, with the following modification or two modifications, if possible, to the number of times that teams may face each other by default in a typical season.

Instead of them facing each other 30 times a year, they should face each other 24 times a year, 12 times at home, and 12 times away, if and whenever possible.

Also, the schedule can start no earlier than April 15 for this minor league, if and whenever it can possibly be avoided at all, somehow.

All other conditions mentioned above, either in this post or the preceding one, should be considered here, if and whenever possible, for any schedules that this league may have in the foreseeable future, please.

Thank you. CD out.

I managed to get this done tonight, and I may be able to make tweaks and/or make the other schedule tomorrow before I will be away for several days.

To use the same schedule year after year with the matchups randomized there would have to be a sacrifice of either the specificity in the game times by day of the week (because the games would float across weeks because locked to April 1 start date that floats across the week through the years) or in the exactly April 1 start date. I have gone with not locking into April 1 and setting to have the first Friday of April be the start, which could obviously be anywhere from the 1st to the 7th any given year.

I put everything into 3-game series, pretty much completely two per week except as the notes describe. No doubleheaders built in. Gametimes are as described.

Every ten series, each team plays the other team once each home and away. The ordering is randomized, so there can be matchups repeated in fairly short order. But teams do not play consecutive series against each other.

Then please go with the first Monday of April, not the first Friday, okay, if you can't lock in April 1 for a certainty, for the SRL. The CKU always should start, when possible, exactly two weeks later. Thanks, gmo. CD out.

Am using UTC - 3 as default local time. Unfortunately have not created relevant country in-game yet, so it may not recognize DST for that country, time-wise, yet. Just so you know. CD out.

Take your time with this, if you must. It will likely be several weeks, if not months, before I'm even close to finishing the 1901 season for the SRL. I can wait, certainly.

There's about 140 games left in the regular season, not including the All-Star Game and the best-of-seven championship series, for sure. So it may take a while to complete this season. Especially with other things I periodically have to do or want to do in my life.

Thanks for your help. CD out.

If it helps, you are not restricted to either the tops or bottoms of hours, except that all starting times must have either a five or zero as their last digit. Thanks. CD out.

As for the postseason schedules for both leagues, that may be another related matter entirely. But we still will have time to work on this more later, Lord willing, I'm sure. Thanks. CD out.

CD - There will need to be some tweaks to adjust to having the schedules start on Monday instead of the weekend, but otherwise I think what I worked up before will still generally work.

One other question though... The 120 game schedule starting 2 weeks after the 150 game schedule is fine. But when do you want their All-Star breaks relative to each other? Also two weeks apart? Same time? Something else?

If you can clarify that question, I will make the adjustments, then maybe you can take a look at the results to see what you think.

The All-Star Breaks should be scheduled as close to the exact middle of each season's appropriate schedule as possible, whenever that may be for each schedule, and each league, if possible. Even if the related ASBs do not occur at the same time, that is, they should be, if possible.

Is that enough information for you here? I'd like to have these schedules be usable from circa 1902 to 1950, if possible. From 1902 for at least the SRL, if not also for the CKU. I do not know yet when the CKU will start for sure. But I'm still hoping it will be able to be started for the 1902 season, in any case, just the same.

Thanks for your help so far, gmo. CD out.

CD - Let me know what you think of these coming up in the next couple posts. I would recommend making quick test leagues into which the below can be imported to take a look through and see if you want more adjustments. A few explanations follow in this post with more down with the files themselves.

The 150-game starts the first Monday of April, the 120-game exactly 2 weeks later. After exactly half the games, each schedule hits its All-Star break, which means the 120-game gets there 3 days earlier. The 120-game All-Star break starts on a Monday (with the game itself on Wed) after a set of weekend series, while the 150-game has a series on that Mon-Wed with its break starting that Thursday and the game itself on Sat.

Because of the length of the break, coming out of each break there is a squeeze so that there is not an offday quite as soon as usually. But by the following week it is back to the usual with an offday every week. The 120-game schedule ends on a Wednesday in early September, and the 150-game schedule ends exactly 3 weeks later.

Okay, thanks, gmo. Will get back to you as soon as possible related to these schedules. Where would I put them both, then, in the appropriate directory or directories? Please advise. Thank you. CD out.

You can save them anywhere. Then when you go to import the schedule file (again, I recommend making a simple test league with the same structure for that) you will get a file selector modal window where you can navigate to wherever you downloaded the files.

If you are not sure how to do the import, hopefully these steps help. It is a little buried through several steps, which is reasonable though considering how infrequent this action is and how customizable the game is. Anyway, to do the import...
  • Go to League Settings
  • Choose the Options tab
  • At Schedule Settings, press "Edit League Schedule..."
  • Select "Actions" toward upper right
  • Under that tab choose "Import from file"
  • Find the file where it was saved
If you are not familiar, that "Actions" tab also has "Report: Grid" and "Report: Evaluation" options that give some stats/info on the schedule.

The files can be put into the OOTP Schedules folder, though that is never strictly necessary. Being in that folder allows for possible usage at creation of a league. That need not be a factor in your case of loading it once and presumably never needing to load again since allowing the same version with the teams randomized within the division year-to-year.
